Aug. 3rd, 2006 07:57 pmWheee... Dreams are annoying sometimes when they're too real. I had to go doublecheck a few things i wasn't sure if i had dreamed that i had done, or if they were real. Pointless small details, like changing the blade of my retractable knife, or removing an annoying screw on the switch thing i built.
Anyway.
Yesterday was somewhat interesting. Raind of DOOM, which meant i had to get a ride to work again, and take the bus home. Kinda nice, as it means i don't have to worry much about time.
At work, due to the plain insane amount of rain, the roof was starting to leak, since the drains weren't enough to get it off, and the water was starting to reach the level of the ventilation things and air conditioner. So at some point, they were talking about closing the store until the rain stops, as if got worse, the weight might be too much, and it might also short out things, which would be dangerous.
Other than that, i ended up being back in electricity. Which wasn't so bad, but still blah. I couldn't help but fall asleep on the picker again. I need to be active...
It was kinda funny. I started in seasonal, as i was supposed to. I couldn't find a decent pallet truck, the only one availible had a wheel missing and was squeaky as hell. So i decided to go see if they had working ones in the reception area, at the other end of the store. Just as i was going there, i saw that electricity had about eleven large pallets of stuff. I thought "Good thing i'm not there anymore, Jean-Pierre will have fun trying to do all that in one day"... Then noticed that Jean-Pierre, the guy who normally does electricity, was nowhere around. And that the boss was coming my way.
It's precisely at that moment that i mentally went "Aw crap...". Because yep, he didn't come in, and the boss told me that since i was the only other one who could do electricity properly, i'm the one who had to replace him....
At least i did finally find a pallet truck that was working fine. And i'm getting used to electricity enough to be able to do almost all the pallets in the 8h we have. Some running involved, but yeah.
On a somewhat related topic, i'm getting a bit annoyed by how nobody wants to let me run or just walk fast or jump the last few steps and that kind of stuff. If i don't, i get sleepy... Not that i'm tired, but my brain kinda goes "well, not enough is going on, i'm idle, might as well sleep".
Which means that i tend to almost fall asleep as i walk.
... and i wish i could come back home to no tech support to do.
Anyway, shower, then work.
Anyway.
