Oct. 4th, 2006 10:31 amAnd the week that could be from hell begins. Not too badly, at least. Worked all night in the construction materials departement. I never manage to spend a day there without hurting myself somehow. This time, i found out that the price tag holders can be sharp... *licks blood off fingers*
At least, there's always tons of stuff to do, so time goes rather fast there.
And we had once again fog of doom. Really fun, i think. I couldn't see more than about 10ft/3m ahead. And there were tons of snails out. Big ones too.
Snails are really funny. I almost want one as a pet... I spent quite a bit of time playing with them and moving them off the sidewalk/bike path so they don't get squished. I seem to do that regularely, got sick of seeing splattered shells with goo coming out. I'm always surprised that they're not more on the defensive. I poke them, they squish back a bit, then just unsquish and resume moving foward. Even trying to pull them off the ground doesn't make them retract in their shell. It's only if i annoy them for quite a bit that they'll do that. Except for a few who seem to scare easily.
One of them seemed to like being petted. It didn't try to hide at all, and if i moved my finger away it tried to reach for it.
I really wonder if those would live well indoor. Might be nicer to them than spending the winter freezing outside.
Also, Midwest FurFest is kinda rather confirmed at this point. I'm pre-registered, i got from November 15 to November 20 off from work, and planes ticket are almost bought. Going to stay with Azusis in Chicago for a few days, then if i can afford to, get a room in the hotel for the actual con's duration.
Anyone else going?
I'm really hoping the possible change from temp tru the agency to fulltime with Rona won't affect my plans. I do have a few good arguments on my side if they do have a problem with it. I haven't taken a single day off since Anthrocon, i did warn the agency over a month before, i already paid and registered thing so working would mean i'd make no money as i'd have to pay for something i'd miss, and they used to be able to deal with it without me before.
I should get sleep now. Want to stay up until certain dragons come online... But i think that might result in me being very sleep-deprived at work, which would be bad.
