Oct. 1st, 2006 01:45 amYay, weekend. And stuff...
Today has been a long day.
Work went very good. I met with the big boss of Rona l'entrepot, talked with him a bit about the possibility of being hired as a full time employee and stuff. Seems like it's going to happen after all.
Work was not too boring, quite a bit of moving heavy things. Especially those metal rods that they use to make reinforced concrete. Heavy stuff, when you have a pallet ful to transfer in a rack.
And the big event of the day was this: http://pyxaron.com/hosted/cam/Overpass_collapse_30Sept_2006/
An overpass about 5-10min away from my house collapsed onto the highway, bringing 2 cars, a van and a motorcycle with it, and apparently crushing two more cars. I heard about it a little bit after it happened and went there to take pics. Had to climb one of those noise-cutting walls, and various other things to get those shots. Then when the cops made the safety perimeter bigger, i used the cam to show people what had happened.
I kinda like that fake-ish reporter thing. But it really sucks that overpass collapsed. And it's going to make traffic hell now, since so many people used to drive by there each day. It's one of the most busy street in the city.
And since i got there very early, many news reporters an press people and blah asked for my contact info, as they might be interested in my pics. But so far, all of them said that they managed to get photographers in the security perimeter later so don't need me.
I was kinda hoping one of mine would be used. But meh...
Anyway. I keep falling asleep, so i'll just post and get some real sleep.
