I think i figured out why my bank stays closed most of the time, or tell us to go to the ATM. People are insane there...

I was there to deposit a 40$ USD money order. I easily waited over an hour in line...

First case, some guy who spoke spanish, and a bit of french and english confused together. And he wanted to deposit a check by his son in his wife's account. But he couldn't explain it right, and just kept saying things that were just confusing everyone, and making him get frustrated.

Second case, some guy who was with Desjardins, but at another location in Montréal. And now he wanted to withdraw 3500$ for some reason. But for security reason, unless your pre-approve by phone, you can only get 1000$/day from ATMs or Desjardin banks that are not the one where your account is. But he still kept arguing and asking them to make an exception, and blah. He kept going "Well, i need my money. So find a solution, because i'm not leaving". After a while, the people in line started yelling at him and he finally left.

Third case. Some guy with a 410$ check, a piece of paper with 148.65$ written on it, and two ... whatever you call those, "carnet de banque", the thingie with your account info and all the transactions you did and blah. He just walked to the counter, and threw all that to the person. Then he just stood there in silence. So unsurprisingly, the person at the counter just gave him a confused look and asked what he wants. The guy just started swearing and bitching about how incompetent they are. After a while, he said "put it in the house account". The person at the counter asks which one it is. He just starts swearing again and going "Why is this happening to me". Then just shouts "The house account!" again. Every question asked gets swearing and bitching, and sometime an additional, equally useless answer. "In the house account!" "Make a deposit!" "Give me my money!" "Withdraw! *points to the second paper*"... at some point they told him to leave, which ended up with the security guard escorting him out.

Next one was an old person, who felt that it was important to explain the WHOLE story behind the check while he was supposed to search for it. He opened his wallet, started talking, closed his wallet as he talked, then the person behind the counter would remind him that they don't have time for that, he'd start looking in his wallet, still speaking, close the wallet, get reminded... Finally someone else (guessing his wife) came, took his wallet, took the check out, handed it, and got done with it.

After that, cellphone user. Kept getting calls while mid-transaction. Wouldn't hang up, because it was "important business". Finally did hang up when they threatened to just cancel his transactions and serve the next in line.

And finally, last one before my turn was a little old lady who apparently decided to keep the last 6 years worth of checks to deposit them all at once today.

Luckily, someone else came in at that point and i finally managed to deposit the money order. I left before the little old lady got done. The waiting line was almost at the door at this point...

And no, it's not unusual, it's apparently like that most of the time according to my mom. These people just apparently don't go to the bank on thursday afternoon, which is when i usually go there myself.

Other than that..

Work became a bit blah-ish, since for some reason "Radio-Rona" decided to switch to all-spanish music. Which is very annoying to me. And i'm now in charge of garden gnomes for some reason. I think they're kinda creepy...

I'm getting very tempted to hunt mouses at work. And i had fun, those gnomes are packed in bubble wrap. I drive the picker. So i just threw all the bubble wrap on the ground, and rolled over it a few dozen times. That was fun.

Oh, and speaking of bubble wrap, a funny one. A coworker was unpacking a box, and kept pulling out bubble wrap. When it was all out, there was absolutely nothing in the box, which got him wondering what that was... Turns out that it was a box of bubble wrap from shipping that they accidentally put on one of our pallets.

I also noticed that the metal trash can sales dropped to zero since i squished one that was used to display brooms. I guess it reminded people of why we all use plastic ones now.

My, and almost everyone else's lunch got ruined by the new janitor. He put my backpack upside-down on a chair, so my iced tea leaked out onto everything. I'm very happy i hadn't brought my laptop with me. And he apparently threw all the plastic bag with everyone else's lunch, the content of the fridge, and a bunch of other stuff he wasn't supposed to touch. And since we have a compactor, none of it was recoverable.

Also, they raised the price of all the stuff in the cafeteria by 10c-25c. Stupid... A miniature bag of chips is 1.25 how.

And on the way to work, i somehow managed to break a gear in half on my bike. Luckily, i can just swap it for another one easily. I just have no idea how i did that.

And it's time for me to sleep, i need it. Blah.

Sleep well, you deserve it. And you need it, to resist the urge to become as crazy as the others who surround you. :P
