Jun. 5th, 2007 10:07 amInsaaanity. Once again!
Work is... yeah.
They screwed up a delivery, and we ended up with 72 pallets of tropical plants. It literally was like a jungle in the store. That was funny. Apparently someone confused "The Rona warehouse" (our distribution center) with "Rona, the warehouse" (the hardware store/warehouse type place where i work.)
I also keep finding delivery paper funny. Our distribution center is in Terrebonne. So on all the delivery papers, it says "Destination: Terre". If you translate, that gives "Destination: Earth".
There also now is a bird nest in the ceiling right above me. They keep coming down to steals bits of junk to add to it, it's kinda funny. And i almost caught one with pallet wrap...
We also got an interesting situation in the hardware departement. We got 11 pallets of various screws and metal things. They are desesperately needed, as all the most selling items are now gone. The problem is, normally one of those takes about a day to do. So 11 of them is almost two weeks to do. In addition to that, the inventory people decided to do now, in the most busy part of the year, that they had to check and count all the screws. Wouldn't be so much of a problem, if they didn't have to "freeze" the stock, meaning we're not allowed to touch it. And it also happens that at the same time, the departement's manager took a one week vacation.
Oh, and we're also in the father's day rush, so we're being flooded by tons of new tools, but until the manager is back, we can't put them anywhere, since that requires his approval.
And they also failed at selling stuff in seasonal. Expected to sell about 150 lawn chair/table/etc kits, sold about 20. And they had orderd about 220, which is two semi trucks full. So we're stuck with that, in addition of other things.
On the good side, we now sell solar panels. Whee! And they got some potentially interesting 180w ones. Expensive, but the employee discount might make them worth it.
And i need sleep now.
