Jun. 29th, 2006 04:56 amAnd back at work... Currently on lunch break.
And i learned that my boss expected me to work on Tuesday. But he never told me, so yeah, couldn't have known. Didn't really want to either, really.
I also got my glasses back, and got an eye exam scheduled tomorrow at 4h30. Cost me 45$, and should cost me another for the exam. I'm trying to avoid wearing my glasses as much as possible today, so my eyes don't get used to wearing them again. I noticed that when i put them back on earlier today, my eyes couldn't focus on anything. So i guess this means that my glasses do make my eyes act different, which means that when i get an eye exam, my eyes are still trying to see as if i was wearing glasses. So of course i'll need them then... But now might be different.
And i'm starting to think i really need to just hurry up and repay my debt. It's not that i don't like my work, but i really think 40h/week with weekends during the week don't leave me any time to do stuff with people. Which sucks. I want to buy stuff, but what's the point if i barely have time to use it.
... or i can just keep myself focused on the idea that i do that now, then from January and now on i can just do whatever and not work.
And random thinking... I wonder if it would work if instead of elections, they just made all the political party write a statement on what they plan to do concerning x or y issue, then instead of making people vote for a particular party, they just make some kind of quizz where you pick the answer that you agree the most with concerning each issue from what the party gave, and the vote is counted according to how much answers were the ones from x or y party.
It seems that it would be maybe a way to avoid the problem with people saying that they are associated with whatever party no matter what they do, as if it was a sport team.
And would force people to actually learn what each party wants to do, instead of blindly voting.
... and i was thinking too, what about being paid for voting. Something like, after voting, they hand you a check for something like 5$ or 10$, just for the effort of going there. That could make sense as a motivation. And well, it could pass as "You pay 2.50$ a year of tax that we'll return to you when you vote." or something like that.
And they need to make political parties make an official "This is what you ask us to do" document, signed and all. And they should be held responsible for failures to do what they said would at the end. And have penalities according to it.
... and lunchtime is over. Blah.
