Whee... Another day with much construction work.

I rebuilt one of the corners of my room, changed a section from an extension of my computer thing to a bunch of shelves plus a bar to hang my clothes on. It didn't make such a huge difference, not much managed to fit in there, but it's much more usefull now. This part was really a pain in the tail to work on.

First, i discovered that some of the support beams for my main computer structure wasn't straight. The part i was building was supposed to attach to it, so i had to change my plans. This was partially my fault, back then i didn't plan to upgrade it, and didn't have that much experience. But a part of the problem is also due to the house's walls and floor not being straight, and the structure bending some more to adjust to that.

Second, i ran out of 3in screws, just past closing time for hardware stores yesterday. So i had to waste a whole night being unable to work on it due to that.

Third, it turns out that a section of the floor wasn't level, so i had to take down all the shelves as i found out that one side was one inch higher than the other. At least, this didn't take long, but i almost fried the drill.

I discovered that, and found it a bit funny. My cordless drill has a lot more power than the corded one. Which seems rather illogical to me, but meh... It just meant i had to wait for my battery pack to recharge before finishing screwing in the things

Today i also bought for 40$ of screws, washers and bolts. I switched to a larger size, and am now adding washers everywhere, so the bolts don't sink in the wood too much. Much stronger...

Other than that, i started taking apart a section of the stairs. Dirt and water were leaking thru them into my room, so now i need to fix this. Probably will just put some wood panels under to block the cracks, and new tiles on the stairs.

I also finally installed the mega pillows on top of the lair. So this is now a second bed, or just an elevated, padded space to crash on with the laptop. Very nice. I still have to finish adding borders around it so it's not as easy to fall off, and finish a shelf that attach to the end of the nest over my desk at the room's entrance.

Tomorrow, i need to open everything and shake some dust... It's getting a problem, my nose is bleeding a lot these day from it. I have two very powerfull fans i'll use to change the air of my room as i remove the dust from stuff.

I'm also considering trying to build some kind of mobile cart for some equipement. No idea if that can really work, but i'll try anyway.

At least i'm happy. The amount of junk that has nowhere to go has really reduced. If i can get rid of the console and fridge, everything should fit nicely.

Anyway, now it's time to stop working...

Pictures will be coming once i can find my camera and charger.

Oh, yeah, i also have some real talent at losing things. I managed to lose both corded and cordless drill. They are not small ones either. Large 18v orange black&decker firestorm, and a bigger corded black&decker from about 20 years ago... Spent about half an hour searching for either of the two...
