Jul. 23rd, 2005 12:58 amHehe, had an interesting day.
Work didn't suck so much for one part.
I had a system to fix, it was an old HP, pretty crappy, and with tons of spyware and windows ME on it. It was a pretty bleah case, and took forever to fix...
The owner came yesterday to pick it up. It surprised me, because the guy gave me 10$ of tip, and owners of systems like this usually are people with no money and fight to reduce the costs to the bare minimum.
So today he came back, and said he got some spyware trouble again. He asks the boss if he can pick me up and have me fix it at his home instead. The boss says it's going to be over 65$ as soon as i leave the store, and ... he agrees. Which is unexpected.
And it turns out the guy is an very rich italian guy, who just didn't want to invest in a system before this one broke. The car he had at the moment was a V12 Mercedes, and at home he had a bunch of other old european cars. And i mean expensive ones... He told me the model and prices, but i can't remember. He had been a race car driver around 1960-1970, and has contacts with lots of important people. It was really weird, considering he lives a street away from where my grandmother used to.
And obviously, when going back to the store, he decided to show off his car, and drove around the highways a bit. That car is insane...
I also got a tech support "contract" with him. He doesn't trust my boss, so he wants me instead. Which is good.
The rest of the day kinda sucked... But meh, it's Telesonic, you can't expect much. Dragon9 invaded later and played with the games on a customer's system... Then ended up copying the whole disk. All the stuff was cracked anyway. Some cool stuff was there.
And tomorrow, Lazerquest. Whee... Supposed to be picked up at 9h45... Meaning wake up at 9... Bleh, i'll try...
