Update for the last few days:

Thursday:

First thing i wanted to get done, was the passeport. I finished filling out the form, until i got to the part where i need to give two people to confirm the info i gave. I don't remember Dragon9's address, and don't know who else to give. And it also turns out that apparently the governement workers were on strike that day, so it would have been pointless to go there anyway.

So i got annoyed, wasted a few hours in front of the computers, then decided to go on a bike ride to take pictures. Beekin said he wanted to come, so i went to his place. I got lost on the way, dropped the stuff i was carrying a few times, then finally got there.

It's kinda funny, it turns out he has a road bike too.

And the first thing that happened after he got his bike, is that i found two computers in the trash. So... PARTS! Woohoo! Got 96mb of ram, and a few mac parts there.

After that we went toward the old port. Once there, we followed the lachine channel toward the west. We took a few pictures there, and went to explore an abandonned thing under the train track. Took a few pictures there too, and continued until we found that the bike path was closed because the police was searching for a dead body in the channel.

So we went around and explored the area a bit, took a few more pictures, then went to downtown montreal. Same thing there. Explored a bit, took pictures... After that, we went to get some food, and then went back home.

There was also a lot of random talking that happened during the day. Which is a good thing. It's more fun to talk when you don't have to translate.

Friday: Work, bleh, didn't get to go home for supper, and finished the day by going to Dragon9's place and watching some movie with the "Mr Bean" guy as a secret agent, then Master and Commander. The first one wasn't very good, in my opinion, but the second was.

Saturday: Dead day. I got woken up by my mother at 10am, because she had found speakers that she thought would interest me in a yard sale for 10$ and wanted to know if she should buy them for me. I wasn't awake yet and wanted the voice to go away, so i answered yes without paying attention to the question, then a few minutes later realised what i had answered to.

So i got up, ran out and tried to find and stop her from buying them, since, as i guessed, they were bad. The boxes looked ok, but inside the actual speakers had holes in them, and the rubber around them was so dry that it was reduced to a powder at the bottom of the box. So i got there just as she paid, and ended up arguing with the person selling them. We finally agreed to take another sound system for 10$ more (they were selling it 20$), and they gave us the amplifier that came with the speakers we didn't take.

It turns out to be not such a bad deal. I woudn't have had any use for the sound system, but for my mom, it's perfect. It's a cheap all-in-one kit with a turntable, digital tuner and dual tape deck. They usually suck, but this one isn't so bad. It will probably end up being installed in the kitchen, to replace the 5$ alarm clock/radio that she has been using for years. Which is a very good thing.

After that, i went back to bed, fell asleep, woke up only at 5, coded a bit, then fell asleep again

Sunday: Woke up at 12h, did some stuff online, then i got my digicam and bike ready and left for Montreal. I spent the whole day circling around the airport and trying to take pictures of planes taking off or landing. Got many good ones, and had a lot of fun watching them. I got to see an engine being installed on some Bombardier airplane.

I spent over 6h there, and now i'm really dead. So sleep. Now.

And i hope work won't be hell tomorrow.

Only 11 work days remaining before the trip! Whee...
